A performance, entertainment, cultural, and educational center for Denver's
south metro area – primarily Arapahoe and Douglas counties – that accommodates
the performance and attendance requirements of performing and visual arts, including
but not limited to – symphony orchestras, choral groups, musicals, dance, theatrical,
exhibits, sculpture, media, national and regional touring shows – and supporting facilities.
The Center will reinforce and support local arts and community organizations by providing performance
and rehearsal space, galleries, and meeting rooms. The Center will meet the highest standards of design
and acoustics to attract the maximum participation of residents in the southern metropolitan area who have
been exposed to and expect to experience world class cultural events as audience members and as
performers and artists. Ideally, it will be located centrally within the expanding South Metro area with easy
access to public transportation and parking.

The South Metro Arts Center Inc. – smArts! – is organized as a 501(3)c non-profit corporation to promote,
develop, and manage the new arts center. The organization is building support and raising funds for arts
center by discussing the concept with community, arts, education, and business leaders throughout the
area through:

By early 2009 or sooner - once initial fund raising is complete - smArts! will authorize an in-depth marketanalysis for:
